Don't knock it till you try it. These instant pot burgers are a sure fire home run!
Hamburgers
Hamburgers are meant for the BBQ! 100% agreed. But maybe you don't own one, or its broken, or you live in an apartment and are not allowed to have one. Trust me, this Instant Pot recipe for hamburgers will satisfy even the most picky hamburger critic!
Equipment
- Instant Pot
- Tinfoil
- Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs Ground beef (Ground pork or turkey works well also)
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp dried minced onions
- 1/2 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
- 1 Cup Water
- Barbecue Sauce
- 4 slices Cheese Optional if you want cheese on your burger
Optional Spices for burgers
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 pinch Cajun seasoning
- 1 Hy's Seasoning Sprinkle on top of each patty before broiling
Toppings (All optional - pick your favorites)
- 1 tsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp Mustard
- Freshly diced onions
- Caramelized Onions
- 1 tsp Relish
- 1 tsp Mayonnaise
- Crisp iceberg lettuce
- 1 Slice Fresh Cut Tomato
- Mushrooms (Raw or cooked)
- 2 tbsp Chili
Instructions
- Add water, sea salt, dried onions,pepper, egg and bread crumbs, (And optional spices of your choice) to ground beef and mix well
- Form into patties, about 1/2 inch thick
- Place hamburger patties separately on squares of aluminum foil, and form into loose foil packs
- Add 1 cup water to Instant Pot, place trivet inside, and pile foil packs on top of trivet
- Turn valve to sealing position, hit PRESSURE COOK for 15 minutes, and do a 5 minute natural release
- If pin has not dropped after 5 minute natural release, perform a quick release of remaining pressure. Once pressure is gone, hit cancel, open cover, and remove foil packs. (Caution they will be very hot)
- Open foil packs, place hamburger patties on baking sheet, brush each patty with a thin layer of barbecue sauce, If desired add a slice of cheese to the patty. Broil in oven for 5 minutes, or until top is brown and slightly crisp
- Turn oven off and serve on buns with your favorite toppings
Notes
- Make sure patties are cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degree F.
- 1/2 inch patties require about 15 minutes cook time with a 5 minute natural release.
- If your patties are thicker (1 inch) cook for 18 minutes with a 7 minute natural release.
