Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Italian Sausage - Casings removed
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion
  • 4 Cloves Fresh Garlic Minced
  • 3 1/2 Cups Diced Tomatoes
  • 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 4 Cups Tomato Sauce
  • 3 tsp Dried Basil
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley - cut finely
  • 2 tsp Brown sugar or sugar substitute
  • 2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Red wine - Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon works well
  • 1/2 Cup COLD water

Instructions
 

  • Turn your Pressure Cooker to Sauté or Browning mode and allow it to heat.
  • Add a Tablespoon of olive oil to the Pressure Cooker cooking pot and then dump in the sausage/ground beef.
  • Brown the sausage and ground beef, breaking it up as you stir.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together. thoroughly
  • Lock on Lid and Close Pressure Valve.
  • Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. When Beep sounds, allow a 15 minute natural release, then carefully do a quick release.

Notes

Feel free to add or subtract the pepper, Cajun seasoning to taste.  All depends how hot you like your sauce.
Another variation you can try - add 1/2 cup of mushrooms to the mix.
