This decadent dessert would normally be found in many fine dining restaurants. But its so easy to make in an Instant Pot for a fraction of the price (And time)!
White Wine Poached Pears in Vanilla
This decedent dessert dish is too good for words. And its easy to make in your Instant Pot!
Equipment
- Instant Pot
Ingredients
- 1 Bottle White Wine (A light fruity wine works best)
- 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
- Firm but ripe Pears peeled
- 1 Cinnamon Stick broken in half
- Whole Cloves
- 1 Large Vanilla Bean pod Split open lengthwise
- 1/2 Lemon cut into rounds
Instructions
- Add the wine and sugar to the Instant Pot and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add the pears, cinnamon stick, cloves, vanilla bean pod and lemon. Secure the lid
- Select manual or pressure cook and cook at high pressure for 8 minutes.
- Once cooking si complete, use a natural release for 10 minutes. For best results, store the pears in their cooking liquid overnight before proceeding.
- Remove the pears and set aside. Remove the spices and all but 2 cups of liquid. Select Sauté and cook the cause until reduced by half. Approx 5-10 minutes
- Serve the pears drizzled with the sauce.
Notes
Cook the pears in Red Wine for a flavor adventure. You may want to add another 1/2 of sugar if you use Red Wine.
Plating
Cut the pears in 1/2 and sit 2 pears back to back on a plate and drizzle the sauce over the pears. Rest a cinnamon stick between the two pear halves.
